In an ONPREM installation, the data the customer produces and stores can be kept on the customer's own infrastructure. The Documenos documentation separately sets out the boundaries of responsibility between customer data and the software.
Documenos® is installed on the customer's own server. Documents and data never leave the customer's server; the only thing sent out is a signed licence package confirming the licence is valid. For organizations that do not want their data to leave the premises — public sector, healthcare, defence, legal, finance — this alone is a decisive factor.
The same approach applies to AI: six providers are supported, one of which is Ollama. This means you can run the model on the customer's own server and use AI without ever sending document content outside. You have a concrete answer to "We want AI, but our data must not leave the building."
For electronic signatures, signatures are created with the DSS library developed by the European Commission, in the XAdES, CAdES, PAdES and JAdES formats defined by eIDAS; four signature levels are supported. Details are on the Electronic Signature page.
Customers can choose a monthly per-user subscription or buy a perpetual licence. Installation services and premium support per specialist are separate items. The free edition is limited to 1 organization, 1 server and 10 users and never expires — a good starting point for your customer to try the product with their own data.
