Maintenance and Updates

To update Documenos® by installing a newer version over the existing version on your computer, follow these steps:

Download the ZIP file of the new version of Documenos® to your computer.
Stop the web server service or website service of whichever you use on your computer, IIS or Apache.
Back up the folder containing the Documenos® files on your web server.
Back up each of your PostgreSQL database files.
Extract and save the updated Documenos® files you downloaded into the folder you designated for your website on your web server.
Start the web server services

When the service starts, the database changes for the new version are applied automatically. To start using the new application version, enter your Documenos® access address in your web browser's address bar. In the event of a problem, you can restore the backups of your web application files and databases and continue using the application as before. Do I need to install every version separately? Is it a problem if we skip a version? Answer: No, that is fine. Suppose you are using version 1.41 of the application and did not update your system even though updates 1.42 and 1.43 were released during the year. When update 1.44 arrives, you may need one of its features and want to install it; in that case, you can update directly from 1.41 to 1.44. Version 1.44 will include the changes you skipped.
